Ugh render performance is pretty bad on Safari on a MBP 2019. The tiles seem to be rendered async instead of in just one go. My machine should be capable of rendering ~500 coloured boxes without any delay. What a terrible UX.
- dmitriid 5y agoGCP in general is horrendous on anything but Chrome. So this chart is on par with it :)
- kulikalov 5y agoI use safari and working with GCP every day. I didn't notice anything but freezing loading indicator.
- kulikalov 5y agoyou'll have the same experience with Chrome on this page
- mattlondon 5y agoWorks fine here on a MBP, but in chrome & firefox. Suggest you avoid safari - it is the new Internet Explorer in terms of feature support (i.e. lagging way behind everything else), so they're probably having to use a non-native polyfill to support something basic that modern browser support but which safari does not.
- trasz 5y agoSafari is better from usability point of view, though: it's faster, uses much less power, Reader View and translation are cool, as is sync with iOS. And you don't need to worry it's spying on you.
