The title implies this is happening but the article body is about the hypothetical possibility?? Sure, there is a beacon app that does something like this. But that's what it was created to do.

I think they did care, they just couldn't get it right. Just look how horribly buggy w10m has been despite months of patching and bug fixing.

Well, you can't have revenue if you have nothing to sell. No new phones + removing old ones from stores means no sells.

Not a dell guy, but this new xps starts to look really nice. Too bad they are both so expensive. I could buy a powerful pc and a good 11" ultraportable for less.

That was my point. The fact that you can fiddle with it to change undocumented stuff should not be brought up as something negative.

Well, we got both types here: >> Why are fundamental things like resource allocation at least not standardised in the kernel? > I think this is a typical reaction from someone with no clue what is going on inside.

I think you are underestimating how interesting your weekend projects are. For the record, my weekend project this Easter was to watch the first season of The Expanse...

IIRC Apple tried to discredit Maynor instead of fixing the problem. Also, remember that this new vulnerability was found by Google not Apple...

Back in the CM days some high profile security issues were patched in matter of hours. Now it could still take a long time for you to get the latest build for your device but that's another story.

Please, software is not perfect, you find bugs you fix them. And for the record, macbooks had a very similar issue with intel wifi drivers not that many years ago.

A university I know just switched from Google to Microsoft exchange and sharepoint. Many angry employees (many on Linux) are now using their private Gmail accounts since the Microsoft web interfaces are very slow and buggy.

Reading the article it seems that authors issues were all due to buggy and incompatible plugins. Some were even written by the author himself. And that's what I'm trying to say: you don't need 20-odd plugins, they only cause

This is surely the year of Linux on desktop :) more seriously, once you get the hang of it Ubuntu machine is just ridiculously more productive than win and osx. I'm surprised that not more devs are using it.
