"Beauty in the Beast" album on streaming services or re-issues would be wonderful. The title track is, to me, absolutely epic and transports my mind to a parallel dream dimension. https://www.dailymotion.com/video&

I’m not sure which part of our national security surveillance state apparatus is endangered by foreign ownership, but I assume at face value that there is some very embarrassing facts that our local spooks are not keen to share with China.

Are we losing the point, here? “Does not browse” When interacting with webmail- also does not browse directly, preferring CLI scripts to act as intermediary. Does wget execute .js or .css or execute anything it reads beyond a URL redirect?

This. Low confidence still significant in that it could have been “low confidence transmission from wet market game”, but that’s not the direction this landed on. It’s likely a lab leak, says the report, but there’s too many gaps to support

Love this, reminds me of the BeOS process controller that permitted killing individual threads IIRC. useful when you need to unfreeze an app without losing your work in that app! Ref image here: http://www.lucidelectricdreams.com

As limited as OneNote is, I find it the place I keep returning to. Obsidian was extremely off-putting to me when I last tried it out, as the node parents themselves could not be documents. Or I couldn't figure out how to use them that

afterthought: Author can go ahead and add this thread to list of supporting docs. :-P we're doing all the work fighting over study itself that we'll bury any idea of censored speech.

The author's framing of the issue as speech suppression is, in my eyes, far more interesting than the study and backing evidence, and certainly more interesting than contra-claims about acquiring COVID here in this thread. Yet here we

Agreed. Over a million dead and zero processing time to grieve, and morgues overflowing such that temporary freezers are used to store the dead. [sarc] Not sure what about that could cause anxiety or depression in anyone, they just needed t

I second Daisy Disk. When I made the leap from Windows to mac in the early 00s I wanted something to replace the freeware “scanner” I had found so entirely useful. http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/

This wouldn’t be my first choice of examples. Unmoderated swatting forums (as I understand that it was) goes beyond free speech. The first amendment does not protect death threats.

It’s complicated! Ha. Yeah I mean there’s no value in harassing an individual at all about their fat pride, when they are not responsible for but most likely victims of society… a society that positions cheap and unhealthy food options at

Correct, there's that line where the body shaming and bullying are more likely to make the fatties go back inside, not get in the pool, and skip participation. That was me in school. I would not have had such issues with weight had it

I sometimes try to use this feature on newer "long press" models. Like trying to "push/pop" an image out larger because it is so tiny in the screen... and nothing happens... I'm just mashing real hard on the sc

The recent episode _What we do in the Shadows_ : “Go Flip Yourself” has the gang watching a version of property brothers while their house is falling apart around them. I thought it was part of the subtext, at least… unproductive watching o

NGL: Sometimes I do worry about the overall health of the Mozilla foundation, but moreso that if Firefox gets too far behind - we may lose out on having an open web. Maybe HN can help save it, therefore the web, and therefore the future for

I appreciate the toggle on volume, but it desperately needs some kind of random silence insertion threshold as well, to space out the distance more randomly. Like what if I don't mind hearing a telephone, but it doesn't need to be

The web experience on mobile is bad, largely because reddit makes it bad. The overlays and prompts to push web visitors over to mobile/native is in itself atrocious, hostile design.

In this case, "Crime Pays Much Better" is a valid criticism, relative to the award. It really shouldn't be the case here. This is very much a "worst case scenario" for Sony if publicly released. The award amount IMH
