I periodically experience a feeling of profound loss of close contacts even years after deleting all my Meta accounts. I’m not going back there, as I certainly don’t see it as the future of the web and not worth investing energy into. I just wish some ppl could figure out how to send text messages again. Just adding this as a counterpoint, that it can be uncomfortable for longer than a week as it says in the article. I’ve likely missed out on loads of invites.

  You're assuming they haven't and that they weren't just referring to replying or even installing a texting app.
