But dozens of nuclear submarines, with hundreds of nuclear missles floating around are safer? That power plant is literally a drop in the sea.

So NEON is not the ARMv8 version of SIMD, because it is ARMv7 version of SIMD? Those are not mutually exclusive.

So it says it will improve drone strike accuracy. Isn’t it a good thing? I mean there are currently a lot of civilian casualties from drone strikes, but that doesn’t stop anyone from using them anyway. Wouldn’t at least improving accuracy m

I think it looks very good by itself, since you don’t have other skyscrapers around. If they build a second one, they will have to get more creative. Also I believe they have to conform to very strict earthquake standards.

In a state where many believe the Earth is 6000 years old, a study that claims the faults haven’t moved for 300,000,000 years will be taken with a grain of salt, and a ton of religious fury.

There is only so far you can shrink. Also Intel’s architecture is way more complex, due to legacy support. Qualcomm for example do not support ARM 32 bit instructions at all, only the new 64-bit ones. If Intel could do the same, they would

You didn’t miss anything. This code is total crap. It should use paddb, instead of unpacking into dwords. Also the link is from 2014, so AVX2 could do that twice as fast. Bottom line: code could be at least 8 times faster. Kids, don’t lear

It is hard to believe they would waste your time or theirs with an onsite interview, if they decided apriori a candidate with no side/opensource projects is unfit for them.

Does Delta have to “import” the airplanes? As an airline, can’t they pretend the planes are based elsewhere, and just fly inside the States? Must be a loophole here somewhere.

What a waste of taxpayer money. I am all for moving away from fossil fuels, into renewable energy, but this is just ridiculous. The oil enabled the developed world we live in today, without oil we would never get to the point where SF is on

It is true for AVX too. The entire crypto in OpenSSL uses AVX/AVX2, including RSA and AES-GCM, so for crypto heavy servers, it is unlikely to ever leave AVX mode.
