On the other hand, this is the most successful multiplayer FPS of all time, you rarely see articles like this, and I can't remember ever seeing an article talking about an exploit like this actually being used. How many high value targ

These Reddit-like comment sections with public vote counters highly incentivize this type of thing. I don't even know why HN has a voting system? I think sorting comment threads by number of replies would be more useful. Vote counters

Yeah this guy didn't handle this situation very well. I don't know if it would've been possible to save Apollo for reddit, but that call didn't help at all. Also, what's the deal with him not wanting to start a comp

This title is misleading. The only change is that you don't need a developer account to download the developer beta version of iOS and macOS, which gets released before the public beta. Seemingly nothing has changed with regards to the

Look at all the time and effort spent to port Wine when all they had to do to win over developers was officially support OpenGL and Vulkan.

I just noticed that lemmy.ml has a 2 day old post saying they're overloaded with users, then the post links to an instance list which shows that lemmy.ml has "1.3k users per month", and the entire lemmyverse only has 3.3k use

I wonder: what if all the major third-party apps come together to form a reddit competitor? It doesn't have to be any kind of fancy decentralized mastodon type thing, just a straight up clone of reddit that users of existing reddit app

The overproduced site/video gives off strong crypto scam energy. There’s a big INVEST NOW button with a very low dollar amount, and I like how they even threw in the line about being an immigrant from Ukraine as if to capitalize on cur

Some skepticism is healthy, but I think you have a misconception about what an LLM is. Neural networks use machine learning to automagically find connections between data. Handwriting recognition is an example of this, as it's trivial

That doesn't seem too unbelievable. Maybe a sufficiently large LLM will be able to find a flaw in the algorithms or logic behind some encryption schemes which even our greatest monkey brains overlooked.
