This is a case of taking away existing artificial barriers and let what people do their thing in the market. 5 and 10 year plans are only for economies run into the ground by an elite intelligentsia.

My only beef with this has to do with power usage which can make some of the older computers just not worth it.

I worked with c++ for many years and it has lots of warts. Slow compilation, lack of decent build system (no cmake isn't that great), mistakes made in the standard library (iostreams), weak cross platform standard libraries were always

You must have a garage with the ability to charge overnight. Otherwise an EV just isn't worth it, IMHO.

I've had an optional experimental feature marked with a CVE. It's not a big deal as it just lets folks know that they should upgrade if they are using that experimental feature in the affected versions.

I'm not sure it's appropriate to use "apple" and "share" in the same sentence. /s It's a problem with VR in general. I have a quest 1 which actually wasn't too hard to share with my kids. The no

Not being able to beat an rx570 isn't something to brag about. Those cards go used for under 50usd in the market and can be undervolted pretty easily. Just having a hard time figuring out why someone wouldn't just go with a 7700.

Games like doom3 in VR are just freakin' awesome. blasting some monster coming up behind you by firing over the shoulder takes the cake.

For international flights they have may have a screen on the back of the seat in front of you. Using a tablet or small laptop works just as well without the discomfort of a headset.

I thought so too but it doesn't take much time for a headset to become uncomfortable. Taking one off and putting it back on is cumbersome.

There's a difference between general "debugging" and "using a debugger". In my experience using a debugger is generally abused. Students need to learn to modularize and modularize and modularize so that what they

The Oculus quest 2 definitely has fit that bill. It has game console level sales. How truly useful and confirtable it is may be questionable, but it certainly supports a market.
