Why do you apply this standard to cheating at games and not for example stealing? I find the view ridiculous. "If not a crime if you didn't catch me red handed" kind of ridiculous.

I don't agree. I think it should be legal (as long as going business offering gambling games is legal which is another thing to consider) to offer a deal: "Let's play a game where you have 0.98$ ROI for every dollar staked. I

I think the debt limit is a good idea as it forces some consensus about spendings. Without it people currently in power can spend as much as they please on their electorate needs and leave the next government in a difficult situation. It&#x

I mean it's completely wrong though as you still have shares in the company after getting paid. A very good rule of thumb is: if someone's mentions dividends when discussing valuation they are clueless. It doesn't always work

Idk man, some good soul corrected a common language error on a site where many authors are not even native English speakers. I am happy there are people willing to do the work for free and that Wikipedia is now better. Hopefully he corrects

It's very easy to make it reliable even if limited. For example detecting if you're within city borders and limiting your speed to 50km/h would improve things immensely. Add to that a complete no-brainer of limiting the top s

I was answering to a comment any collectibles. There multi-accounting is rampant and little can be done about it. When it comes to non-physical goods then a lot more can be done about enforcement.

When it comes to limiting speed zero situational awareness is great. Somehow we all accept it for light benign vehicles like e-bikes and e-scooters - 1500+kg metal boxes with limited visibility though? - can't have that!

This happens for material things all the time (collectibles, snickers, limited edition of anything) but in case of experiences (concerts, access to trails) the id verification at entry is a good mechanism to defend against it.

It's not like raffle solves the problem. Instead of bots you can multi accounters/users. The logistics is more complicated but doable if the item is desirable enough.

Also regulation to automatically limit speed of cars - the biggest low hanging fruit when it comes to safety and quality of life in cities keeps getting delayed and crippled because of car manufacturers want to sell fast cars.

Crypto is the same as introducing your own currency and printing your own notes. "But it's on the computer" doesn't change the nature of it.

Permissive license open source is going to be fine, for now anyway. The problem is that the arguments cited in the OP also apply to small devs who can't afford an army of lawyers. Such regulation will spell doom for software start-ups

More victim blaming from car obsesses culture. Problems with e-scooters come from them being forced to narrow and unusable infrastructure. Allow them on the road, let them park in places cars park and it will be better. As usual it's e

Wait till you see how parked cars litter sidewalks and streets. Every one of them takes as much space as tens of e-scooters as well. It's really annoying cars have that free-for-all start anywhere - leave it anywhere model.

Just ban cars first. They are big, dangerous, smelly, loud, driven too fast and they actually kill thousands of people per year, not just cause dangerous situations. Any problem e-scooters have is multiple times worse with cars and they ac

Then ban or severely limit cars there. You can turn a 2-way street into one way one and turn the other lane into bike/e-mobility one. If not that make it 30km/h zone, allow bikes and allow other mobility devices to take the middle

No surprise there. Public school experience varies from traumatic to just a gigantic waste of time during the best development years. Once you go through that you don't want your children to have the same experience.
