I think in general the deal in EU is terrible for young and not so young productive people. Taxes on income are high, real estate is very expensive as the land is already taken by others (who usually pay very little tax on it). There is reg

That it slows things down significantly is a feature not a bug. Rural roads have a lot of accidents. In my country the most fatal ones. There are two main reasons for that: speeding and fail to yield. Often combination of the two. Roundabou

As someone (still) living in Poland and paying taxes there I find it bizarre. We are giving 1.9b USD to Intel as a subsidy, not even a tax break as Intel won't pay any here (the factory is in a special economic zone) while our governme

VAT is physically paid by businesses in EU. At the end of the day it's a tax on final business to customer transaction (like sale tax). It's levied on a transaction. Saying one party pays it but the other doesn't is meaningle

If you want to tax sells in a given country charge VAT. Corporate income tax is just a fundamentally bad tax. It's hard to enforce, even with good will it's hard to calculate (is paying $X for a license a legit expense or not?), u

Yeah but market cap is at least in theory about how much money a company is going to make in the future. Not this year, not the next year but decades is already pretty close (because of the discounting).
