The way that C memory management works is a design decision. that design decision had criteria that informed it...it's no more or less valid than other design decisions that are made in the face of other criteria. It's no more &qu

Lots of people confuse learning to code in C with learning how hardware works. Its close in some ways but not all. EDIT: WOW. I'm amazed at how many people think that C is "how memory works". Just wow. This is one of those th

It's really weird that people talk about phones like general purpose computers that they should be in control of...I'm just pointing out that it has NEVER been the case. I'm not even sure what it would take to get to where it

I think that you missed my point. The guys that was in charge of developing Windows Phone 8 is now the guy in charge of Windows. Windows Phone won't be canceled, it and Windows will become the same thing...just with form factor differe

The guy that ran windows phone is now the head of the entire windows division. His name is Terry Myerson. I doubt very seriously that he is going to shitcan windows phone.

@ 2Ghz they can probably produce large quantities. It sounds like they went for a "safe" fabrication process so that the initial rollout is as defect free as it can. I really hope MS ports windows server to it...

You are correct sir. I'm with you...I think that they should have open sourced a lot of the supporting software around windows server. I wouldn't really care if the source was available, it would be nice, but I personally think th

They are also open sourcing the chassis management system that they use for these systems. They open sourced the hyper-v drivers for linux and freebsd and got them integrated into the kernel. Asp.Net is completely open source and hosted on

Right, you ever track all the changes in Php or Java? The idea that something being open source means that there aren't changes is just nonsense. Change happens. It's life. I guess you just pick your poison.

This gets reposted here every couple of days. I get it...you guys like Go and Rust. Most of you are Open Source all the way. That's cool. Some of us actually like MS technologies. Not all of them, but some of them are great. I guess I&

I'm just saying that if you have something that needs that kind of deniability then counting on some software packages claims would be a bad idea. I get that this is a big deal though, from a "is truecrypt" usable standpoint

If you were counting on TrueCrypt for "plausible deniability" than you are stupid. That's "magic bullet" security/magic thinking if I've ever heard it...

Personally, if I were really worried about privacy I would use burners or get a lineman's handset. It seems like a smart device that you use all the time is going to have the same problems. So, yeah you can encrypt the voice channel. T
