More generally, Kubernetes is an abstraction layer between your application and hardware/cloud that allows you to declaratively define what your app is, how it runs, where it runs and what dependencies it needs. All in a standardized f

I"m not sure that it is, given that the empty interface is more annoying (IMO) than just wrapping a native map in a sync.RWMutex. Especially considering that sync.Map just uses a mutex under the hood: https://github.com/

I've written it before and I'll write it again (despite the massive downvotes from those who want to silence dissent): Title II regulation of the Internet is not the net neutrality panacea that many people think it is. That is the

Only tangentially related, but if you ever get the chance to check out the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva you should do so. I'm not really a watch geek so before going there I was kind of "meh", but that place is incredible.

I'm not sure it's inaccurate to describe Title II regulation as heavy-handed and unnecessary when the most rapid and beneficial growth of the Internet occurred in the 90s when there was little/no regulation.

It seems to me that there may be room for disruption. Currently every TBM (tunnel boring machine) is completely bespoke and is used for exactly one project and is then dismantled/recycled. They cost hundreds of millions of dollars each

GP was a bad example. You probably wouldn't have an RPC returning a simple type. It would instead return a message (aka a Go struct, or an object in JS) which has various fields (or even just a single field). Protobuf messages have bui

Exactly. If you write in a way that allocations are controlled, GC becomes irrelevant to performance. Well-optimized Go without allocations is indistinguishable from C (modulo compiler differences).
