Most factories in my area will start you off at less than $14/hr. Granted it's full time, but that's roughly less than $20k/yr after taxes, which is hardly enough to live on, let alone raise a family on. I worked for 6 m

I've seen this in employers as well. I worked for a textile mill that was technologically stuck in the Stone age, drilled you all day long for nearly minimum wage. Then I got a break and they made me a line lead, a reward for being suc

I'm not extremely familiar with Perl 6 to be able to draw a comparison. From what I know about Python 2/3, it's that you can write maybe 90% on average/in general of your code the same way without much thought about the

I wish Linux distros shipped with more recent language versions, e.g. Python 3.6 and Perl 6 in addition to just 3.4/5 and 5. I understand that it's not their job to try and push people to update their language skills, but it'

Ah yes, I'm aware that today's sensors are pretty large and extremely costly. But in the near future I wouldn't be surprised if a small, far more affordable sensor became available, even if at the cost of some range and preci

Why not just use a simple LiDAR sensor? In the near future small solid state sensors could become far more affordable.

I had to do a double-take when I read the title, forget about the article. _Google_ developing an Ad Blocker? Ha! I'd never use it.

Funny. In other words, we're not making enough people rich through our overspending already - those in retirement, who are supposed to feel security in their old age, should overspend too.

Way I see it is, if we can land a rover the size of a minivan on a different planet, we should be able to do this without much more effort. Money, perhaps, yes; but, we've already done it.

Honestly, if the only thing you're going to dispute me on is my very last point (which had basically nothing to do with the overall theme of my reply), I couldn't care less what your argument is. Moreover, I doubt you're the

I disagree. Women taking a job who formerly did not have one isn't much different than an immigrant moving to the United States and taking that job. While I agree the latter involves adding an additional 'consumer' to the mar
