If I bought a DVD and Disney bursts into my house and takes it, "Did you not already watch the movie? Was it not enjoyable?" is not an excuse. No one would assume as much. I would very much expect my money back. And if they push o

I would assume it is just a regular website with some backend for federated discovery. I don't read many blogs but I would assume having tags or a "more like this" that search across the fediverse could be useful? Are those t

I believe once you follow someone, you become federated with their instance. and you potentially receive all content from that instance... I think? there are also admin controls for managing moderation and federation.

Perhaps it's not going to block Steam because they have an escape path. They were leaning heavily into UWP right around the time Steam for Linux became a big thing.

I imagine the stance is that Linux is meant to be a backup plan to Microsoft closing things down. WSL keeps you locked in with Microsoft. It has the benefits of easing someone into Linux so they can migrate to Linux full time. But it doesn&

I was reading through the Handbrake changelog and noticed it mentioned changes to how blurays are handled on linux... So I tried to rip a bluray and it worked. Hopefully I can survive without MakeMKV now.

I did this by moving across the country. Anytime I get a call that is "local" to my phone number, I know it is not for me. (sometimes spam, sometimes misdial, never someone I know (I have all their numbers in my phone already)). A

From what I'm reading "considering how good Wine was getting" was because valve was paying devs to work on it. Also, it's nice because basically they've given this all back to the open source community, so it doubly
