SpaceX is unique because there are a whole lot of people who want to work on space exploration and very few big companies that are making serious progress in the field. Many people will put up with lower pay and extreme working conditions j

Reddit's content policy has also changed a LOT since he was CEO. While the policy back then may not have been as loose as "is it illegal?" it was still far looser than what Reddit has had to implement to gain advertisers.

Sorta related to (1) but not really: there are also more "advanced" detection techniques that most sites use to identify things like ban evasion and harassment using multiple accounts. If they say "we identified that you are

It sounds like the fuzzer would have had to use an arbitrary number of bytes containing '.' and the cert would've had to pass chain of trust verification. A fuzzer is only as strong as its implementation.

I don't see any ad when I search for "gimp". Maybe it's only targeting Windows users? edit: nevermind. I was being saved by ublock origin. Searching with it disabled shows the malicious ad.

I'll never understand how people can justify seeing the world in such binary terms. You don't honestly think someone is "bad" or "good" based on political ideology, do you?

It's certainly possible. I've handled a bunch of bug bounty programs and sometimes submissions come in at just the right time and attract just the right attention. It's not a reasonable expectation for the average submission.

I think there's a difference between verifying a report and simply triaging it to the right team. Apple is doing the former while companies that respond in 15 mins are often doing the latter.

Media consolidation in the 90s took decades to degrade our public discourse. I fear for what things will look like in another 10 years.

I used to live in a neighborhood that had a slug line to the Pentagon. You could do a similar analysis of "something is going down with the military" by judging the number of cars left in the park and ride area after rush hour.

I worked for a startup in the early 2000s that got funding and moved into a nice new office building being subleased by an oil company. And odd requirement of signing the lease was that they had to hire and keep on an IT manager that used t
