Where do they draw the line? What about DLSS? Doesn't any game using that have "AI generated graphics"? I guess their email wording focused specifically on assets. Does that mean if you don't pre-bake assets in as artifa

It's lingo from Amazon's corporate culture. This article explains it well: https://aws.amazon.com/executive-insights/content/how-amazon... > Day 2 is stasis. Followed by irrelevance. Followed by excru

It's a real problem. AWS IAM permissions are not human manageable anymore. The only way to get decent permissioning done is via an IaC abstraction layer that can generate them for you based on declared needs. AWS CDK does a pretty dece

I would avoid normal butter. I use ghee instead. The problem with butter is that it has water content that can cause the popcorn to get soggy. Ghee avoids that.

To use Amazon's terminology here, it really feels like they're becoming a Day Two company. It took decades to cultivate the perception that Amazon cares about customers more than any other company. It takes so much less to destroy

Maybe blindingly obvious in hind-sight, but none of the IDEs I mentioned in my last comment have this feature. Nor does any other IDE I've ever used. It's not hard to imagine why a novel feature, without much prior art, potentiall

I disagree with all points here. The speed performance became possible by being able to implement this within VSCode's core rather than over the extensions API. Without proving the value proposition as an extension first, it'd be

Sure, ifError rejects, but I don't think the behavior here is surprising or strange at all. This is exactly how one would want it to work. If you wanted to await it, you could do that. Is the concern you're raising that people may

I don't think I follow. Your example left out all the definitions of these functions, so you can't really deterministically say what will happen. If `someOtherPromise()` fulfills, `valueIsOk(value)` evaluates to `true` or truthy,

Fair, I should've been more careful with the way I worded that. The common example I was highlighting was concurrent network IO requests that effectively resolve to parallel work that runs on different nodes. With a service oriented ar

I don't know HIPAA specifics off-hand, but I would not be the least bit surprised if ephemeral pre-signed urls get generated for sharing HIPAA protected assets based on cookies/auth. If the URL is live for a time window and doesn&

These are problems easily solved with tooling today. ESLint + TypeScript literally addresses every example you raised. Static analysis works pretty well these days.

I disagree. I'd take JS-style promises over trying to manage Futures in ForkJoinPools or thread pools any day. Being able to write async expressions in parallel by default means even junior devs take advantage of parallelism. I've

There's more reason for NJ residents to take issue with this. In central jersey, it costs at least $20/person for a round trip ticket. If you go with your family or a group of friends filling a 5 seat car, the train costs $100 jus

My experience has been the opposite. With hooks, it's now possible to decompose a concern and modularize it in full. Having logic for dealing with a concern spread over willMount/didMount/shouldUpdate/willUnmount was a t

I wish the price was slightly lower so this could be no-brainer, but I'm a fan. The speaker dock seems like a gimmick at a glance, but I think it's compelling. It gives the device a definitive home at rest, and bi-modal utility. T

A charging dock is such a simple thing, but it effectively makes the device a hybrid tablet/nest-home-hub. It also gives the tablet a definitive place to be at rest that still provides value when not in use. The price being reasonable

Has anyone ever gotten ink to work with OCLIF and TypeScript? I never could figure out how to get those to play nice together. It's ESM only, and that makes things so much harder. The ESM transition has by far been the biggest pain poi
