I've seen this several times. You need to get the stuff to the students who usually have no money to spare. Emphasis on "NO". Affordable doesn't cut it. If you can't download it from somewhere for free, something el

I'm certainly not a Markdown lover. I don't think that taking text conventions from Usenet and writing them down in an ambigous spec is much of an accomplishment. But criticism from someone that thinks that roff is "very simp

As Markdown is available in a plethora of dialects, it's likely any given converter doesn't work 100% correct with the dialect at hand. Granted, that's only a weak argument against Markdown. I rarely encountered converters th

Then you still need somebody who cleans up the documentation afterwards or converts it into your Markdown dialect of choice. If you have such a person anyway, you can just let other contributors write simple text without any styling to beg

How would you feel about being in a group of 7 of which one gets randomly shot? How much money would I have to offer you that you took your chances? Unnecessary deaths are worse than life threats you can't do anything about it.

You can still today declare a function without a return value like this: "a() { return 1; }". GCC only outputs a warning by default: "warning: return type defaults to ‘int’ [-Wimplicit-int]"

Superhero stories were put on the screen long before CGI. The Batman series from 60s come to mind or the Superman movies from the 70s (and there Superman III is IMHO the most enjoyable with a Richard Pryor that pulls of a really cool hack).

It's more than that. Both Angband and NetHack are forks of their ancestors. There is an unbroken line of continous development of the same code base coming from the 80s. Hack and Moria OTOH were clones of Rogue and didn't share an
