Wow, when did HN become all Apple fanboys, all the time? - I thought this was supposed to be a rational argument but it seems as long as Jobs is destroying Flash he's ok with everyone, even while he's locking down the rest of his platform.

I don't buy this at all, although some of the reasoning is sound there's some jaw-dropping rubbish in this statement. esp. around 'openess'. This is one big red herring - Adobe pissed Jobs off, this is his revenge, end of story.

Gruber's aggression toward Gizmodo fans the flames - he knows this, he's in the business of page views - and off the story shoots, racking up ad impressions for everyone. The only one to come out badly from this is the poor guy that got a l

This whole Flash murder/death/kill attitude is boring me to tears - I don't think any Flash developer would disagree that HTML 5 will (eventually) replace the more basic things that Flash does. Advanced multimedia will still use Flash. Ads

Gruber has every right to cover it, no question, but how he covers it is important. He started talking about theft before he had any evidence that this was anything other than the worst drunk phone loss in history. He raised the temperature

How is that not implying it was stolen??? I thought a legal education was a pretty lengthy process - I stand corrected.

My point is not that Gizmodo did the right thing (far from it) but that Gruber is actively involved in hyping this thing up. I don't think its a mischaracterisation to say he implied it was stolen, it's right there in the text of the post.

My problem with this post is that Gruber acts like he isn't involved in this whole circus - he's just as much to blame as Gizmodo. I'd suggest one of the main reasons that Gizmodo published the guys name is that Gruber implied immediately t

Much as it's not cool of Gizmodo to drag this guys name on to the front pages I think everyone engaged in the Apple rumour mill is culpable in this, especially Apple themselves. Gruber over at Daring Fireball basically called Gizomodo out b

Your missing the point - any social construction that provides a solution to a problem no longer has a point if that problem ceases to exist. Therefore the construction will not just act to preserve itself, it will try to preserve it's anti

Wish I had time to build an AdFundedSiteBlocker - extension for Firefox that doesn't allow you to read the content on a site if it has ads on it.

Nobody, even Kanye himself, would disagree the guy is a bit of a dick sometimes, but it's nice to see someone that wears his (he)art on his sleeve and strives for the best. He's the Steve Jobs of Hip Hop.

I think your words resonate with a lot of the HN readers, but you need to look a little deeper into the cause. For me, I still liked my profession, but the job I had wasn't allowing me to do the things that fulfilled me. Simple solution was

Wooah, jargon overload - you've managed to put pretty much every technical term on one page and I think that could be a problem to your audience. Publishers & marketers are a varied bunch, and very few of them would be able to understan

Global Tabbing - I have a lot of windows open (as do you all i'm sure) and i'd really to be able to bundle them into one tabbed window in a Firefox stylee. Look at something like Coda (www.panic.com) and think instead of having all the apps
