By the way, now that I think about it, I could draw a parallel here, remembering another recent thread here on HN: - TypeScript is easy for reading but hard for writing code - Tailwind is easy for writing but hard for reading code

I've been working with JavaScript for 20 years. And 5 years with TypeScript. And, well. I still am not convinced. Too much overhead for me. I really dislike typing obvious things and boilerplate. Probably my fluency with JS is to blame

Caprover on a Hetzner instance (tried alternatives like Dokku and Coolify and even just a Caddy server with a bunch of hooks but that was difficult to maintain)

So much training data everywhere. Wonder how long till we have AI chats for things like these, and much more — psychologists, counsellors and whatnot.

How much time do your 4-5 year-olds spend playing video games on a daily / weekly / monthly basis?

Yet another editor with no ability to switch to vertical tabs. Looks like I'm staying with the old-school JetBrains IDEs for the time being.

Absolutely. I closed the tab once I felt being molested by the scrolling mechanism hijack.

I got zeroes from both network and education. Either of them was boring. But my counter-strike and virus-writing skills bloomed!

Oh, actually, I have CleanShot. Bought it back in 2020. And I was offered an update to the recent version, so will check out the new features and the cloud too, thanks. I still would pay for Shottr!

This is an amazing piece of software. Does all that's needed — simple screenshots, very convenient crop / blur tool, annotation, arrows. One question though — why is this free? I am ready to pay for this.

Why would you want implement a subset of SVG? It's native for browsers, and is surely supported in a plethora of languages using various libraries.

I have been experimenting with my own implementation of something exactly like this. Will definitely try this out. So far it looks amazing, thanks!

No vertical tabs? Oh well, WebStorm keeps on being the only choice then!

Salt (and various substances alike) causes bad corrosion in vehicles. And quite often salt helps dissolve the snow yet what remains is a sludge, which in my opinion is much worse than a pedestrian path of packed snow. I wish more countries

My thoughts exactly. I'd even call it quite shallow. The only thing saving this book is science. I wouldn't say it's a disappointment. But it definitely is very "Martian".

Finally someone did this. I've got a million songs in my head that I'm humming not knowing what songs these are. And I was dreaming of being able to simply hum a melody to something shazam-like and get a result.

IMO You don't need mobx if you're using svelte. Use svelte stores.

Trying it out now. My findings so far: - no vertical tabs (ditto for vscode though); - no diff, unless I'm missing it; I try to live without vertical tabs, but missing diffing is a show stopper.
