GraphQL doesn't allow for recursive types. This limitation cropped up in a project and was a frustrating (re)discovery. You have to pick a maximum depth and explicitly define that depth. It abuses POST. No way to tell by a quick glance

I don't think so. Apple builds an insanely strong core from which any and all other teams can (maybe must) build on top of and use to power their team's platform. You have a core messages team for example - off of which Mac, iPhon

The benefit of AI is it will make workers more efficient and free up workers and thus businesses to focus on additional projects and problems, create new tools, grow, etc. One real issue I hope we resolve is to then see workers benefit from

This gets even worse in tests. People notice a handful of tests with similar structure (setup, tear down, assertions etc) - debugging those future test failures that now share a common abstraction becomes a pita and destroys confidence in t

What's more revealing is how easy it is to maximize FDIC for large sums of money. You can get 250k per account per institution. That also applies to joint accounts. If you have a spouse and two kids you can get 5 insured accounts per i

I've used this guide as a reference and now feel pretty good with a lot of FP concepts and why they exist - pure functions, monads vs applicative vs functors, referential transparency etc It's easy to understand Lists, Options, Ei

Don't worry - the Twitter web team also made this mistake. But they made it at a time when TS was popular instead of earlier when the two were equally popular. Even well after TS was clearly the better option (as in 2022) the twitter w

Yes! Forgot about this part. Lots of funds are focused on capital preservation - if the market is down 20% in a year, a funds goal will be to be even (0%) or maybe down slightly like 3-4%. They may be less focused of being up 20% when the m
