I personally much prefer not using cash. I also do not trust checks - they can be stolen, washed, changed to be cashed by someone other than the intended recipient. We still need a better way though to transact between individuals and businesses. Venmo has transaction limits. Zelle is not reliable (far too easy to send to the wrong person, reversals are difficult to impossible, management of the associated account isn't terrible), etc etc. Wire transfers cost money. I'm hoping something like FedNow can vastly simplify and improve our ability to transact quickly, reliably, and safely. We have enough tech today to get by and to pave over all the issues around moving money - but it's still very annoying.
