As someone who has written a fair amount of networking code in C, I'd assert that without an understanding of what's in Beej's guide, it will be nearly impossible to competently use io_uring in a networking context.

Thanks for that link. I've done a bit of work with the Common Crawl data (and proposed moving to ZSTD with a proof of concept and performance metrics in C a few years ago). I'll send you an email later this weekend to connect.

In a very different way, I'm also involved in a search-related project. (edited to add: also going solo on my project as well) If you ever want to bounce ideas around, I'd totally be up for that. Related: you mention other sources

I had the same thought and it took me a minute to figure out. It's two separate denominations: $600,000 USD and 500,000 Euro.

I'm fascinated by structural engineering as a sort of hobbyist (who has done some basic home construction/renovation and plans to build a house/houses one day) and would definitely not be opposed if you went on and on about i

Also, it seems like you may have a number of notions as to how autistic people interact with others. I'm obviously not sure if you've actually had interactions like this, or if you anticipate for some reason that people would reac

I'd agree that's an extremely cynical way of saying it. I don't disclose it to people I'm not generally close with. And I have never disclosed it at the precise moment of disagreement. It's always been a separate co

I'm glad you added this. I know lots of people who haven't/won't tell any but the very closest people to them.

I'm going to assume there's no ill will or frustration in your comment. To answer it directly and plainly, and from my experience only, the social challenges of autism are such a huge part. And so, sharing that with people I was c

Not at all an inappropriate question. And I'm always glad to talk about any of this stuff and hopefully help in any way that I can. Side note: Vyvanse has been life-changing for me as well. There's a simultaneous grieving for what

Yeah, it's a good enough friend that I deliberately tried to not interpret what was intended. In part because, as you say, it's a bit of a leap. Instead, I chose to interpret that the news was surprising and perhaps a bit uncomfor

In similar ways, I can definitely relate. I deliberately studied and practiced sarcasm and storytelling for several years before I got comfortable with it and it landed half-decently. And I still get locked up around certain kinds of people

I was diagnosed 3.5 years ago, the week after I turned 37. It's really interesting to see/hear/interpret the range of responses from people. Some people aren't surprised by it at all. Others completely disagree with the

Yeah, I've reviewed that and other forums as well and previously narrowed it down to 3-4 options (It was a while back and I don't remember which). I'm expecting I just have to make the decision at some point, and work through

It seems that finding a FreeBSD-compatible laptop can be a bit of a process. I've been considering the same for the last couple years, but always end up hesitating once I get into researching it. Are you up for sharing which laptop you

I've noticed the same thing myself at various times in my life. My most frequent sleep schedule I maintained was 4am to noon, but it drifts from that pretty often. And when it does, my days push longer. I actually mapped out a "6

What is it with people insisting on using something other than C? You don't know what I'm working on, yet you're insisting I operate completely differently? It's so weird to me.
