Yahoo to be honest has actually done pretty well on not running acquisitions into the ground: Delicious, Flickr, Upcoming, Inquisitor, etc.

I think this may be the beginning of the end of Foursquare and Gowalla, they're now fairly redundant. I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook doesn't start doing geo-location soon too.

I definitely agree. That's what happened with the Buzz + GMail contacts fiasco. They were testing it internally where everyone knew everyone so had no idea why anyone wouldn't want to have all their email contacts added as friends.

This sounds immensely complicated, maybe they should have worked out a better way for selling the software. Making it free and having this stupendously complex proposal system seems kinda short-sighted.

I find it interesting the Spolsky said he was going to stop writing yet keeps coming back. He mentioned on SO podcast that it was because it was such a time suck and that's why he wanted to give it up. Obviously he loves it and just can't..

Wow, that's really interesting. I can definitely see how that would work though, most of the 99c stuff on the app store is utter crap, I tend to just mentally skip over it. :-)

I always wondered why Kevin wasn't the CEO in the first place, he seems to have all the ideas and the drive. VCs probably wanted someone experienced at the helm. I dunno. :-)

TBH I, like most techy-people was not excited about the iPad at launch. However, the more I see about it, the more excited I get. Although it is a simple device, I think it is becoming quite obvious that the apps are going to make this devi

Yet another move by Facebook to show utter disrespect for their users. Sure, we will all read the dialog before giving away our email address. However, 90% of Facebook's users wont . Proof: when they updated the privacy settings a few mont
