> such in-memory copies are implicitly granted with the disc The story isn't saying no-one is allowed turn on their Macs because we're pirating OS X by making copies of it. Apple's point is Pystar is breaking the license under which OS

Ah, very interesting. Didn't think of this in relation to my point above but it explains why Chrome is open-source too.

Well the other browsers aren't going to make their product better if no one knows of anything better hence the tv commercials. They didn't contribute to Firefox instead of inventing their own browser because if they have a browser of their

I don't think Google's primary goal here is to have the largest market share in the browser market but to be able to drive innovation in the other leading browsers through competition. Google Chrome drove Firefox (and others) to improve the

I don't see what the issue over this is. The headline is sensationalist and misleading, what Apple is claiming is technically correct. Booting a Pystar computer does create an unlawful copy of OS X in memory because OS X isn't licensed to

I disagree, Google would most likely offer this app for a very low price or free. Most of the current (decent) GPS turn-by-turn apps are very pricey up in the $70-90 range, of which apple takes a 30% cut. I find it unlikely Apple would want

You know, now I think more about it, I would very much doubt it does have a better product but that it is down to branding, so maybe logo is important. Not really so sure anymore :). See my reply to briansmith.

Very interesting, I feel kinda stupid now. However after docmach's comment below I believe this reenforces the point about logo design being overrated. However, I think it is more down to an overall brand rather than a specific logo.

This is why Slicehost rock, they always communicate brilliantly. What I find amazing here is that the Linode representative hasn't even said sorry in the first post they made and hasn't in the second post either, crazy.
