I’m glad to see the most sensible response float to the top. It seems a lot of people having given any thought, or plain don’t understand, how complicated a program like this would be to implement at a company the size of apple. Just think

My best productivity trick is when I sit down to build something I write a note. I define the problem I want to solve, then I define the solution I have in mind. This tends to give me time to think through the different paths, and I finish

I've had that book on my shelf for so long, I really do need to shift it higher in my reading list.

Looks good, roll it out to the UK and we'll switch from Jamf pretty quickly.

It's generally the first thing we check for when trialling new software. Does it work in Chrome/FF/Safari and on iOS/Android. If not then we won't continue the trial.

It's always seemed a little off. I've been coding for 15 or so years and I still sometimes completely blank on certain javascript array functions and need to google it.

It'll shake out. I'm sure that is weighted to return more later in the generation anyway.

Yeah the problem is the “anti-consumer” hyperbole. For some people it’s just not for them, doesn’t line up with what they want from a device. I’m not sure why that needs to be anything more than preference.

I’ve have a couple of really useful reviews from this guy: https://www.roastmylandingpage.com/

Sometimes but not always. I find that it is when I need to “convert” it into a set of steps or communicate it to someone else.

Yeah can be quicker to read and comprehend. I also find I’m quite good at abstract thinking which from what I’ve read is fairly common for people with aphantasia.

I appear to have both of these things. I wonder if that’s quite common.

This is going to be like when I discovered I had aphantasia isn’t it. People are hearing actual voices inside their heads? I can sometimes have a train of thought that I could vocalise if I wanted to but I don’t actually hear it as a voice.

I actually much prefer this. When things try to be technology agnostic, or too generic you end up with the lowest common denominator for features.

I feel like I might be reaching for the tinfoil hat but it feels to me like there is a concerted effort to confuse the privacy conversation and turn it into one about how everyone is bad. Call me paranoid but I think Facebook would love to

Yeah I was convinced I was dying, I went to the hospital at first because I thought I was having a heart attack. All they said to me from the blood test was that it showed I was fighting a virus, but I don't know how they would have go

I had a virus a few years back that put me on my arse for about 4 weeks. Docs only said that might blood showed I was fighting a virus and it would pass. But for about 3 years afterwards I remained feeling tired, I used to have heart palpit

It's tricky because the good part of that port is you can plug anything into it, thunderbolt, usb, etc. But the bad part of that port is that you can plug anything into it and its hard to tell why it might not be working as expected.

Can anyone recommend a dock that does 140w charging? Right now I use a Caldigit one but it only puts out 90w I think so I’ll need an upgrade.

Other than the ML work maybe. The Apple chips claim to be very performant with ML workloads.

I’m so disappointed to trade a multifunction thunderbolt port for a single use hdmi port when the same thing can be done with a £5 cable. I wish I could get that M1 pro max chip in my current MacBook Pro.

Unpopular opinion here for sure, but my main thing is going to be the ability to run macOS so that keeps my options fairly limited! High hopes for Monday's announcement.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. Personally, if you bounce me out of the app to some random payment page I'll close it and delete the app.

It was my understanding that they do that so they can get you a fixed one back quickly, then they can stack them up at their large repair centres. The one you receive back is just one that someone else broke a while back.

I guess cost would be a factor. It seems like they could also offer some sort of service where phones can be reverified if the shop can evidence where it got parts.

I knew a guy who used to run one of these little repair stalls, almost all of his parts came from stripping down stolen devices he got from local scallys. These were all genuine parts, but it made stealing these phones more lucrative.
