I don't really understand your point. The thing about timing channels is absurd - we have the code right in front of us. Right there. It either calls third-party servers or it doesn't, and we can see that. Very easily. The idea th

If somebody who doesn't know what they're doing is writing a CC form, you've already lost. Making app development easier isn't "dangerous" because it allows less experienced people develop applications. You wil

If you don't know JS really well, I wouldn't recommend Coffeescript. It's hard to tell what will work correctly and what won't unless you're quite familiar with the actual code the Coffeescript is compiling down to.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the well-thought-out response. The moderation has always made me a bit uncomfortable, but its results are pretty plain to see, so I guess I'll shut up and put up. You're probably right that my unea

Dang, you've been doing some great work, and I really appreciate it, but won't you just let us talk about what we want to talk about without berating us about it all the time? You've been making some pretty heavy-handed imper

Well, of course untrusted code dealing with CC info is insecure. That's why this is open source, and you host it yourself. It's just a library. Whose source you can see. Whose source you can compile. With a third-party compiler. Y

Do not confuse nostalgia for reveration. The old programming systems are indeed quaint, and should be preserved, but not used. There's a reason we've moved on.

This would be considered part of the view, not the controller, and would thus be organized as such. It's also a very small example - a real application would have a number of differences with this.

I'd buy a LOT more from Amazon if I didn't live in Alaska and have to wait at least a week and a half for shipping. I hate shopping - if I could reliably get something in a couple days, I'd almost never even need to leave the

Yeah, I suppose my description of Java as compiler-enforced Hungarian notation isn't entirely fair. I often wonder if Java's problems in terms of bearability are as much syntactic as they are semantic.

Indeed. Responding to the fetishization of web technologies by fetishizing Unix utilities is missing the point. They're both tremendously important and tremendously useful, but trying to ignore their shortcomings doesn't help anyt
