Yeah, cause a 480px vertical on a desktop design is completely relevant to modern web development. /s Protip: you don't have to snark every. single. article. Lay off it already.

This gets into something that I think derails a lot of debate when dealing with people of faith. Most people, including religious people, try to argue as if both sides of the argument are starting with the same assumptions, when they'r

It's unsubsidized by media sales, so the price doesn't seem outlandish at all.

It actually looks much more pleasant than HTML. The syntax is almost identical, except that HTML is much more verbose and difficult to read. This is a very different beast from Jade - Lisps translate to HTML very easily and transparently.

Yes, everything you say is correct (AFAIK), but it's not what I was talking about. The thesis of my comment was this: the collapse of MtGox involved a larger proportion of the bitcoin market than the proportion of the dollar market inv

Yes, but as a proportion of the relevant market, they were far greater, which actually strengthens the point.

In other words, "I disagree with you." Could you add something to the discussion? A real argument, perhaps? Nobody called for a hand-raising of who was for or against economic regulation.

What's wrong with showdown? Legitimate question - I just haven't heard of any complaints about it before.

You seem a little harsh on Emacs, but I'm with you in general. (To be fair, Emacs is an enormous pain to get into, has a bunch of legacy cruft, has odd terminology that is difficult to learn, and has a terrible default config. To be fa

Curious as to your opinion on Evil from Emacs - I've been learning Evil without knowing Vim first, so I don't know what I might be missing.

Orthogonal literally means "perpendiular" - it refers to two things that aren't related at all. So, non-mutually-exclusive is part of it, but not the whole picture. FYI

How, exactly, is it silly? Or prepubescent? (The concept of sexualization being prepubescent is a nearly oxymoronic postulate in the first place.) The model is altered in physically impossible ways purely to exaggerate its sexual characteri

I don't usually complain about this kind of thing (because someone else usually does it first), but the model for the third demo is absurdly sexualized (think the original Tomb Raider, except even more so, in higher detail). Is there a

How is caching the count "cheating"? Grabbing the count for every request would be ridiculously expensive in any framework, not just Meteor.

It's quite easy, and you still get reactivity. You publish the collection as before, but you write a server-side filter (a well-documented core feature) that only sends a small piece of that to the client. Even though the client only s
