If only AT&T did it that way. Instead, the fiber terminates at an ONT, which has an ethernet port and that connects to their router. AT&T's network uses 802.1x authentication and the client certs are burned into ROM on the r

It seems to be new behavior introduced in iOS 12. I’ve observed this too, when doing a brief SIM swap. All it took was removing the SIM, and the phone automatically de-registered that number from iMessage.

In a worst case scenario event, I’m not sure I want to have to evacuate from a smoke filled cabin and have a ladder involved in the process. Seems like a risk for falls/breaks/sprains if you’re trying to peace out of the plane qui

The refund process is a mess. I followed the directions on the Reddit page last night and got an email from Steam saying they’re refusing the refund because it’s been more than two weeks. Other people on the comments have said similar thin

I read recently that the university I attended has put a system like this in the dining halls. Back when I went there 20 years ago, they’d sell a reusable cup for around $40 that got you 50 cent sodas all academic year long (it was otherwis

I assume by “souped up” they mean they modded it. You can go onto Amazon and get adapters to retrofit HDD-based iPods with flash, and a replacement battery too as long as you’re cracking it open. I did this with an old 5G video iPod and it

My mother-in-law inherited a mid-90s Trinitron TV when her father died in 2005. It's been the TV in their guest room since. Their flat panel TV died a couple weeks ago and they put that TV in their living room as a stopgap. The pictur

I used to work for a place where, during the 60 or 90 day check-in with HR after you got hired, HR would put a hard sell on you to write a Glassdoor review. It had the effect of flooding it with 4 and 5 star reviews from people who hasn
