Gee, I've been using a handrolled program that a) figures out what other program to delegate to as well as what options to pass and b) makes sure unpacking whatever results in exactly one new entry in the current directory, that is, un

If you build the drone out of magnets, you can fall back to the original plan when it inevitably breaks down!

Sometimes you actually want to do math beyond adding and ubstracting with ptrdiff_t. Multiply a potentially negative offset with something? Compare two offsets, one of them negative, with each other?

ssize_t isn't standard C so it doesn't get you very far for portability.

Are generics not inlined when appropriate even without #[inline] or LTO?

I don't really see why a pile of different languages couldn't FFI through C-style interfaces without any of them actually being C, though.

The idea isn't that you make a pokemon team of people of all skin colors, sexualities and genders to have all damage types covered. It's more that cultural background and experiences made shape thinking, problem-solving approaches

Don't think of it as optional semi-colons, think of the { } block syntax as containing zero or more alway-semi-colon-terminated statements, as well as zero or one bare not-a-statement never-a-semicolon expression giving a value to the

I'm gonna say I'm rather happy that \w doesn't match apostrophes, aka string literal delimiters in some environments.

The biggest limitation is probably that you can't use packages from the cargo ecosystem. I haven't looked in detail but afaik it runs genuine rust binaries in a sandbox. You can investigate at https://github.com/ru

Kinda feels like projects where the version number is effectively meaningless except for "equals" or "greater than" comparisons should just use a yyyy.n scheme so you can at least tell at a glance how old a thing is.

Fundamentally, authentication when someone tries to delete a thing needs to happen in server-side logic, not on the client side. The rest is flavouring.

I figure a lot of the time, you don't write it like that, but you get weird behavior in a much more complicated situation without obvious defects that eventually can be reduced to an example that would fit in with those quizzes.
