Sounds like if Mozilla wants to improve Firefox memory usage, they should work on blocking ads natively so people don't need Adblock Plus. <:D

With showdead on, the post reads: > Am I right in assuming that "pr0n" is some kind of 1337, 80s hackerish misspelling of "..." ... with the ellipsis substituted to accomodate your preference. ;-)

Mapping is just the map method. This is about early return, so maybe you could construe it as a specialized whatsit in the Cont monad. http://doc.rust-lang.org/core/result/enum.Result.html#method... http:/&#

Closures aren't "free", you need to structure your code around being unable to return/break/continue across the closure boundary, and there's probably some silly borrow checker errors involved too.

Yeah, sure, a higher kinded type here, syntax sugar for generalized computation side effects there, and before you know it you're neckdeep in monad transformers and your head rapidly decompresses in a combinatorial explosion every time

Since both threading models were supported and compatible throughout IO, concurrency primitives and other runtime bits, the design of both was considered to be constrained too much to get either model where it should be. The decision was ma

Really? $158k, minus kickstarter's cut, minus a bunch for the physical backer rewards, minus the production costs for the videos, probably minus some more for taxes, seems like that good a deal for a project that's been occupying

*libgreen They're gonna get yanked out of the core distribution too and won't be integrated in the stdlib IO anymore, so it's fair to say that Rust is switching to 1:1 threading.
