> They aim to beat what someone else will pay for your skills, as long as they want you working there. So what happened in 2020-2022 where everyone was willing to pay more and more for the same skill sets? I think we're agreeing on

Seriously the M1 Air will crush the 2017 MBP, why you would choose louder and less battery life after being comfortable spending $2000 is beyond me.

Is there a name for this type of person? Who will just waste any amount of time possible to get a 1% performance improvement. I see it all the time in the overclocking community, and more seldomly in the portable space.

Now lets quantify how many of them are absurd listings. Recently saw a Senior Security Engineer role for Netflix, $100-$700k salary range. How is someone supposed to reasonably negotiate that role? $100k is clearly a joke, $700k is clearly

More specifically, it seems like a RAG (retrieval augmented generation) system than fine tuning.

I'm actually surprised you are able to draw direct pricing comparisons, it feels like half the products I buy are now 15% smaller portion size while increasing in price.

Have to install plugins to your repo to use with containers. Sessions write to disk by default. Uploading to S3 is a plugin you have to install - that defaults to still saving to disk then uploading after a minimum duration.

Damn shame, I just migrated a 10,000+ student LMS to Moodle for a contract job. Unfortunately due to the contract terms theres not really any room to play around with something new. Moodle is a total beast to scale, it uses a ton of memory

This is a common misinformation campaign against EVs. First of all, EVs use far less brake material than gas cars. E.g. Most Teslas run the same pads for 100k+ miles due to strong regenerative braking, for me it was triple the longevity of

At the point where you spend >$400 you might as well buy hardware to purify the air... Unless you have a very specific molecule in mind, a standard HEPA + carbon filter will fix 99% of your problem.

One thing I love to see here, mainly because I was going to make it myself, is the chart on latency. GPT4 is practically unusable unless you spend $10k+ a month and have an enterprise account. No real end user wants to wait 20-40 seconds fo

I have to buy all my games again to play them at lower quality and frame rate? Seems like a bad deal, I also dock my ROG Ally, and use it on my TV running 1080p60, something the Switch seldomly does. As for fiddling, I really don't un

Having recently bought a ROG ally, I have to say I am incredibly impressed with the SOC. It is pretty quiet and can run most of my games very well. I am blown away to play OW2, Apex, Cities Skylines and even BOTW on a hand held device, incr
