Rather than the main road of remarking about how the bad optics and evidence continue to get worse, I will say that this also reaffirms my sense that Uber is just not that good at the sort of machiavellian maneuvering that the SV crowd laud

One question that came to mind while reading this was "Why do we have to demean HTTP in order for the tenets of IPFS to succeed?" HTTP is ubiquitous, and no purism or idealistic superiority of some other protocol is going to sway

I can't speak to the psychology of it, but I imagine the same sort of invincibility complex exists for big movers in traditional business/finance/politics. We're just being made aware of it here now because of the democr

This is why the hype typhoon of ICOs makes no sense on HN. If you did a "Show HN" with a site that was all pedigree and vagaries, no product, it would get torn to shreds. But by and large, ICO coverage seems breathless and overblo

My problem with VanillaJS is that browser companies ship browsers with VanillaJS support already. This is a clear case of picking winners, regardless of VanillaJS's excellent benchmarks. Why should all these browsers ship with Vanilla?
