Why is this trending on HN? It's one of a thousand resources on Japanese, and a poorly built and incomplete one at that. Is this blogspam?

Who should be the “moderator”? What constitutes “live streaming”? (Is Twitter a form of live streaming?)

For some people, Facebook has moved from being a social network to being more of a private sharing app for sure.

This is private sharing, not a social network. Private sharing is about sending content to people A, B, and C (“push”). Think iMessage, WhatsApp, Snapchat. Social networks are about people discovering your content (“pull”). Think Instagram,

Timing seems related to Altman launching Worldcoin (whose goal is to reliably differentiate between human and AI generated content). https://www.reuters.com/technology/openais-sam-altman-launch...

The reason humans tend to tell the truth is if we don’t, other humans will call us out for it. I wonder if there’s a way to mimic this “bs penalty” for GPT. Maybe you could have a setup where GPT gives an answer, then a second GPT has to gu

Effectively structuring (publicly available) data for training is a moat. So is the details of the model, and the UX of how the model is presented to users. Consider why Google won in search for so long, despite anyone being able to write t

The advice isn’t about coding vs managing. What John is saying is to deeply understand why you’re building something, so that you can build it better. If you over focus on the what — the implementation, the language, the approach — you

Interesting to hear this, not having tried Tile myself. It does seem like Apple’s big competitive advantage (along with access to low level device APIs they don’t offer to developers).

For sure. I hope it helps others to understand how an eng org should be run, so that they can help adjust their org’s approach. If incentives and process aren’t set up right, there’s only so much you can do to bandaid over the dysfunction.
