I've seen a lot of negative reactions to this mike drop. I wouldn't judge him too harshly. He's actually a very good developer worth the benefit of the doubt.

At my former job we had a rather large faraday cage for testing telco equipment. Two things surprised me: 1) It is more fiddly to ensure a room-sized faraday cage doesn't leak RF than I thought. It is really easy to make mistakes that

As a customer, the one thing I really want to know is whether or not the company is dealing with this in a manner that helps me decide if I should continue being a customer. Do they understand that they may need to fire the CEO given that t

Path of least resistance? Picking a language (and possibly runtime) is a pretty huge investment if you intend to become proficient. A lot of people like to think that they are polyglot programmers and that language doesn't really matt

Isn't that mostly a risk and marketing question? How seriously can you expect the TLD to be managed in the future and what do you want to communicate. My own personal bias makes me a bit wary of "novelty" TLDs since you can&

They key is "flow controlled". Syncronicity doesn't really enter into it, but I can see how people can get confused and think it's about that because asynchronous designs tend to introduce a greater degree of decoupling

This is the first time I've thought about the fact that Mark Zuckerberg is the first non-animated character to inhabit the uncanny valley I can remember. (After briefly wondering if the video featured a CGI character).

Why would you want to go to that kind of event anyway? I've been to lord knows how many events fitting this description and I can remember exactly zero products or startups coming out of this.

SQL is actually pretty okay for writing SQL. I was never in love with this rather roundabout way of doing things since it didn’t solve problems I was actually having.

While I was there (about a year later) I can remember it being used generally in meetings to judge if something was ethical. I can remember things being nixed (by engineers) for being too “evil”. Some of those things would probably be okay

I tried to use ORMs in Java years ago, but realized that while it makes simple things simpler, sooner or later you will need to do something that the ORM can't do simply. Or you will bang your head against the fact that you are trying

Do you use the syncing features? I sync to Github, so if I install VS Code on a new machine it takes a lot less than 20 minutes. That bit works great.

Wouldn't it make more sense to design browsers where a WASM runtime interacts with the DOM (and architecturally make it look more like a device driver)? And you could just compile JS to WASM on demand (and possibly keep a cache).
