“High litterature” tend to mean litterature with high prestige among elites and long-lasting cultural impact. Good for you if you appreciate Marvel-branded content, but it doesn’t make Marvel Homer. The closest analogy to marvel movies woul

There is a big difference between editing/censoring existing art to conform to contemporay values (as OP is talking about) and to create new content. New content (like a new netflix production) will always reflect contemporary values.

Agree - if a function is otherwise cohesive and doesnt mix independent concerns, I prefer one 100 line fuction to 25 4-line functions. Splitting functions is tempting because it makes each individual function seem simper, but the higher cos

Typescript is a great remedy when you are forced to use JavaScript. But in a context where you can use any language it makes zero sense. If you want static types just use C# or whatever, otherwise just use Python.

A sibling comment calls geocentrism “human centric bias”, so yes, some have the misconception that geocentrism places humans at the center.

My take is the opposite. DRY can be overused, but it is much easier to “undry”, than it is to consolidate duplicate code which should have been dry from the beginning. Sections of duplicate code tend to drift apart over time, making it mo

As a non-religious person, it is hard to grasp the mindset where one can denounce the abuse in words, but in actions support the institution which perpetrated the abuse and protected the abusers. But I understand faith is not rational.

Apply the same logic to any kind of asset. Why should real estate, ownership of land, or any other material posession be inherited through generations? Why not let it revert to the public domain upon the death of the owner?
