Big surprise, the jobs that pay more attract more people than the jobs that pay less. My partner has a bio undergrad degree, she works in a field having nothing to do with it because she didn’t want to pursue masters/phd.

So you work weekends? This seems more like an extra break, akin to having a holiday off.

As an aside, usually those gas station ads are mutable. There are unlabeled buttons on the sides of the monitor - press them. One of them mutes it. I have yet to find a gas station at which this won’t work.

Care to elaborate? A four-word rebuttal to a well-written, fairly detailed response doesn't really make your case for you.

I don’t get why it matters where you join a meeting from. If you’re in bed, so what? You’re still on the meeting aren’t you? If I can do my job perfectly fine sitting poolside, and still hit all my metrics, does it matter that I’m at a pool

I remember a scene in the show "Mad Men" where they just flick out their blanket to scatter all trash from a picnic and then leave. I thought it had to be satire but I asked an older coworker and he said it was pretty accurate to

I used asdf for a long time and recently switched over to rtx ( https://github.com/jdxcode/rtx ) and so far it's been a better experience for me. I must have screwed up something years ago in my dotfiles, but when I

Could be the chlorine. With some of my plants, I used to decant water into an a pitcher and let it off-gas for a day or two and then use that to water the plants.

Really? I see the "[flagged]", and the post, it's just slightly dimmer and I had to manually open it. I'm using no special extensions or anything, just a normal browser.

People disagreeing with you is not censorship. We can all still see your comment.

Working on something at your house is very different from doing it day in and day out, year after year. I have worked many manual labor jobs over the years and after just a few years started having constant pain in my knees, feet, and lower

Not sure where you're getting this from. Police have no duty to protect or serve, this was just a slogan on squad cars in some departments and became a TV trope. If they take some sort of oath, it's not really legally binding. See

It’s both. I don’t think actual white supremacists are “censoring” me. I think people who saw a way to make money by catering to that demographic are not practicing the “free speech paradise” that they preach. What’s so hard to understand a

If you want to call me an asshole, call me an asshole directly instead of “this thread might be a clue why.” I never said white supremacists were censoring me. I said Gab is full of them and that as a platform, they too censor views that di

Did you not see where I said they censored me? I disagreed with a prominent Gab user and posted something that was, by their criteria, “left wing” and I was banned. That is 100% censorship by the criteria he established. How are they not ca

Well apparently they won’t let me use it. They censored me for not having views that aligned with theirs. But also yes, I’m not a fan of white supremacists and I won’t voluntarily use a platform that caters to them. Just like I wouldn’t eat

Gab should do whatever they are legally required to do under the law and no more. If they want to provide a safe space for white supremacists/conspiracy theorists/whatever, I don’t care. I won’t use it. Me not using their service

Right, what do you mean by that? That Americans aren't using it because they prefer censorship, or that they aren't using it because they're dumb, or some third or fourth points? I'm not sure what you mean.

In a lot of the Michelin places, usually the chef will have a stake in it. To get investors behind them, they usually already have a name and bit of cachet and also worked for other Michelin-starred chefs. The ones I've worked at have

It's me, I'm the source. I worked in a lot of those Michelin-starred places in quite a few cities. I also bailed. The pay and hours were a large part of it. But I did it for years and years.
