You forgot to mention why formatters would be superior. I do share your opinion, and the two reasons I can think of are (1) consistency and (2) short-circuits style discussions in code review.

Depends on what you mean by hard. Bootstrapping a K8s control plane? Not so much, kubeadm does all the heavylifting for you. Keeping your install recent, etcd performant and backed up, maintaining and scaling underlying filesystems etc. is

You don't need a lot of other stuff as well, but it might come in handy. Looking through their examples I'd much prefer someone used jQuery instead of writing a bugged getNextSiblings function themselves. Also, jQuery is self-cont

Instead of only logging in every other month you might as well ditch the service completely, no?

How does the X1's trackpad compare in size to a MBP? Trackpad is probably the showstopper that kept me from switching to some Linux in the past.

There can be multiple solutions to one problem, there's nothing wrong with experimentation. You seem to think it's OK to call any Emacs competitor crapware?

If there are separate accounts then the organisation will likely be private, and you wouldn't be able to research the user accounts in the first place.

You'd just end up mistaking commits to my private repositories for work. Also, private contributions have to be enabled in order to show up there.

Esoteric setups aside, I'd be interested to hear about problems that people actually have encountered with this convention.

I don't get the problem. Why bother where dotfiles are written to? GUI file managers and userland tools hide them by default. What would I gain by having them written outside of $HOME?
