Valve uses human translators, not ML. So unless you're talking about your browser's auto-translation feature, you are, in fact, reading human-produced text.

Tell that to the Europeans. Unless we invent the ability to build single family homes into the 4th dimension, there is no physical way to build enough houses in good locations for everyone. And we can support only a certain amount of horizo

I think it's much, much more common in the world of software to build things that either no one uses, or fades out pretty quickly. There's a world of difference between taking a week to ship a new button to Chrome at Google (low i

Deflation is horrific for any economy because it makes debt more expensive to service. Like it or not, modern economies are largely able to function thanks to prolific use of credit. If you think about it, it makes a ton of sense - if a ric

Counter point: maybe prices (including on assets) should be allowed to go up, so that their prices better reflect their value relative to productivity? The fed didn't really prop up any major industry this time around (unlike in 2008),

I still don't get it. If rich people own land with value X, and you tax it and produce Y amount that gets distributed to everyone, doesn't that Y directly increase the cost of food and shelter or any other thing that the poor peop

Correct, but that's just how the country is. If people want cultural changes, they've gotta address the causes of the divides in the US and understand that they'll have massive negative consequences too, not just positive one

But that's what US has over other countries - the promise of a dream. The idea goes is that if you work/study hard, you'll be wealthier than elsewhere. This doesn't have to be 100% true for everyone, there's already

It's not possible for everyone to FIRE, is the point. Society needs to produce X amount of goods and services to sustain itself. If insufficient goods and services are produced, you get stagflation that kills your retirement nest egg.

Setting aside the massive issues with the whole "just make the rich pay for it" shtick, climate change is not ruinous. Humans are incredibly adaptable. We can survive just fine in even the worst predicted climate change scenario.
