This is a very good thing for Android. The BRIC nations have a faster growth rate, a burgeoning middle class that can't yet afford Apple IPADs or other premium tablets. They would definitely buy these low cost and yet highly functional dev

I would be interested in hearing how LinkedIn gets around Node.js issues .For example Isn't Node.js single threaded ? Would it not under-perform , say compared to Erlang or Netty, in a multi-core CPU.

I've often thought of doing a high volume messaging project with Node.js but I seem to be addicted to jBoss Netty.

The counter argument to MVP that Charlie O'Donnell (First Round Capital) provides in this blog post resonates with me: I am an engineer and I like to solve problems first by my own insights. Perhaps customer development should happen only

To be fair to Facebook, this is how vulnerable any one's content is if they host it at a hosting provider that is outside the jurisdiction of their nation and subject to third party pressures. Very few large and profitable hosting provide

Funny -- I had never heard of the "Teacher" caste before. But by the same measure of anecdotal evidence, there must exist a "Hollywood caste” in US -- how else would you explain Will Smith's kids going into entertainment biz. Or may be th

Twitter can afford the to have multiple languages in their stack but most start-ups simple don't have that luxury. If you have a early stage start up with about 10 developers and you need to quickly build a set of server side component or s

A long tome ago when I was an MBA student, I asked my prof and peers why does company X buy company Y, when both X and Y are healthy companies, in the context of techology companies. The most common answer is "synergy" or cost savings .
