Well it seems to be a controler chip or interface failurevon the drive. The motor is spinning; there are no clicks. But the drive is not "seen" by the BIOS. Gparted etc. software based solutions failed as the drive could not be see, I t

Quora is killing itself. Quora wants my information before it lets me take a peak. I have never made it past the homepage of Quora as I don't want to logon to a site without knowing what is in there. I think there are several more people l

A lesson can be derived form the Facebook , PHP and HipHop story. They did not rewrite the PHP code in another language, they just made it go faster with HipHop by compiling PHP into C++, and the compiling that into binary. The end use

It matters in the context of scaling the enterprise and not individual. A lone wolf programmer could use whatever rig and be productive. In a large team environment, meetings have to be scheduled ( Outlook+ Exchange), SRS documents have to

I think backbone.js would have a much greater draw if there were re-usable widgets (views/apps/collections). I would beg to differ. The power of backbone.js comes from being agnostic towards widget implementations. People are adapting it

Sproutcore is like a full UI widget toolkit -- analogous to extJS or GWT or java swing in the java desktop world. I am sure you could accomplish a lot very fast with Sproutcore. However, I chose jQuery +backbone.js because I am comfortabl

I agree with your opinion about Scala. However, my point was that Java will continue to be always good enough to steal thunder from more promising languages. ( I realize that Oracle may find a way to screw it up) Had JDK 7 not included For
