Hey! We've used limelm in our (now defunt product). Everything was a pleasure to use, both the client libs and the web frontend! That said, we obviously had to camouflage calls to the client lib and apply a few other tricks to make moc

You must be confusing LLDB/GDB with Clang/GCC. LLDB and GDB are debuggers, they generally do not produce many error messages. Clang has/had better error messages than GCC.

Because Minecraft Education Edition is not scriptable/modable unlike Minecraft for Desktop or Minetest.

Minecraft Education Edition is a fork of Minecraft Pocket Edition, written in C++ without modding capabilities and only compatible with Windows 10. Minecraft Java Edition is likely going to die eventually.

IMO both are doing more wrong than good. I ignore the already discussed walled garden Apple is trying to bring to education. MS is doing the exact same thing. The new Minecraft Education Edition is Windows 10 only. I could live with that. W

I've worked on both RoboVM and Mono, I can tell you first hand that these are issues that are real and have high impact on performance. Android and Windows Phone don't lock their respective managed runtimes down like Apple does lo

Overlooked C++. My point stands for managed runtimes. ObjC/Swift don't have to deal with the following laundry list of things the managed runtimes need to implement: - Explicit instrumentation for null pointer checks (slow) - Expl

None of these do proper bitcode. And once they do, the managed runtimes will be slow as molasses.

I had the same reservations as you, especially after DOOM 3. But DOOM 2016 feels like an updated version of 90ies DOOM I grew up with. It is indeed perfect (in single player mode) and evokes the same feelings I had as a kid.

A z-buffer solution will not help as soon as you involve transparency. Which I'd assume is the case in 99℅ of applications. Unless your application/game is all boxes :)

If you want to render Spine 3.x models, you'll need to be able to render arbitrary textured triangles so meshes and skewing work correctly. Check out the new Spine TypeScript runtime (spine-ts), which renders via WebGL. Should be trivi

The latest LLVM releases have major regressions regarsing JIT performance. Compilation via LLVM has essentially become to time consuming for use in a JIT. Bit of a bummer really.

Apart from missing venture capital, the biggest hurdle for a flurishing startup ecosystem is of a cultural nature. Failure is still somewhat of a taboo in Austria. Risk aversity is taught from an early age on in most households. That being

JavaCPP does not compile Java bytecode to C++. It is a Java to C/C++ bridge ala JNA, just better. Major difference.

First, let me say this looks amazing. Thanks for your work! My biggest issue with Jenkins so far has been configuring complex jobs. The single configuration page just gets unwiedly fast, and important settings are often hidden by default. I

How's the managed runtime implemented (GC, memory model, etc.)? How did you get rid of JVM and JRE class library dependencies of Scala? What's the debugging story? I'd be great if this kind of info found its way onto th websi

What you describe has nothing to do with the Java Memory Model, but with GC tuning, which is an implementation detail. The JMM governs multi-threaded shared memory access semantics. C++11 also defines a MM, inspired by the JMM. V8 and Pytho
