I'm not sure what liberals want, and I agree, we have been at war for something like 15 years now. I suspect that Hillary would have essentially continued our presence in Iraq. In that sense she barely qualifies as liberal. If you want

Good point. Also, the cult of personality or celebrity. Arnold Schwarzenegger, as an ineffectual governor, demonstrated that you need more than just celebrity to get things done.

No it does not, perhaps because I don't see it as a genuine threat to my position in life. I don't excuse it, but hatred of any kind is only productive to the extent that it generates action, so I see it more as a waste of energy.

I'll bet he doesn't know that the pubic sector shrank more under Obama than the previous presidents: "The public sector grew during Mr. Carter's term (up 1,304,000), during Mr. Reagan's terms (up 1,414,000), during

Excellent advice. I would add that Op needs to make his or her own safety net, and the only path to this is by building up savings. The goal is to get to a place where you can save a large fraction of income with the ultimate long term goal

An excellent summary of the factors contributing to the uncertainty in the forecast this year. I've not seen a write up based on other models that gets into the details like this blog does. Will certainly be interesting to see how it a

Why use student t distribution? Why not ask Nate Silver: "This mostly makes a difference for very low-probability events. For example, for an event that a normal distribution regarded as a 1-in-1,000 chance, our t-distribution would as
