What an idea. Absolutely unbelievable - I've written an API framework in COBOL, but this is something else. Very impressive bit of work.

What a brilliant observation. Has anything else been written online about proactive vs. reactive identities, and particularly - how this has changed historically. Could it have been the case that prior to television, generations (for exampl

The problem with egalitarianism is that it leads to chaos, as we're now seeing in the UK. The old system was better.

Did it get it right? Giving it the benefit of the doubt, it's possible that the particular shirt / jacket combo is cheap? Just reaching here, instead of plumping for the obvious.

The BBC is free from adverts from people other than the BBC. Notice I said: "ads for a load of BBC programmes"

Or massive vaping ads on the side of school buses.

If this were to be the case in humans, I wonder what effect antibiotics would be having on behaviour.

Can't help that the religion which emphasises compassion and selflessness has become unpopular. That said, it's the inevitable outcome of a more heterogeneous society.

Can anyone tell me which CA is used by Open Banking in Brazil? The infrastructure is heavily based on PKI. I assume it's not this one?

Yes, I smelled a rat when the article said "the new group includes the Denisovans".

Yes. There's an interesting question here of how basic realpolitik interacts with existential priors. Is it a question of "who does this belief serve?" In other words, socialism served the working classes in the 20th century.

This is quite interesting. I'm not convinced of the core hypothesis, ie. "Psychological Progressives" and "Psychological Conservatives" based on desire to create vs. a desire to preserve. People who are associated w

I have to say that I'm delighted to see that so many readers on HN picked up on the dodgy argumentation and non-sequiturs in this blogpiece. Little by little it feels as though some sanity is creeping back into the world.
