This is interesting. I wrote an Invaders clone in assembly for x86 in the early 90s; typically you didn't use OS calls then either, not because it was "bare metal" (though it could have been) but because int 21h was horribly

Most of the people featured will still be alive; what's the legal status of the video re. privacy, I wonder?

I bet you it's the children's bath-time songs that did it. Very mumsnet-on-the-razz.

"the DSA bans targeted advertising based on a person’s sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, or political beliefs and puts restrictions on targeting ads to children." So I can still apparently, for example, target running shoes

I've definitely had situations on Spotify where I've been listening to Abba and the Scissor Sisters, and started to be offered playlists aimed at LGBT people, but this is musical-choice targeting. It just happens that I like stuff

The ban on advertising targeted at things like sexual preferences will be interesting to watch. As some people have pointed out, Netflix for example seems to be very good at targeting people who are "questioning", anecdotally befo

Yes, I think they described it as 'peanuts'. It's in the form of investment as well, but if they don't want it and we can't afford it, it's odd that it carries on. I'm sure it's a complex matter.

Inflammation can be rather subtle. Someone ostensibly unaffected could have a load of biomarkers of inflammation, and it's associated with all sorts of odd and bad stuff. This is a strange study, perhaps the press release is just dodgy

Depression is the probably the hidden variable here. Surprised it wasn't called out in this remarkable press release. The photo is an interesting choice. Role of inflammation in depression: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

And yet it mediates your entire existence. Without both objective (or analytical) science and subjective (or holistic) theology we're trying to understand the world with one hand tied behind our backs. Personally I think understanding
