Exactly, the beauty of the law is that almost always, the outcome is decided on a case to case basis. It used to be less case-to-case when there were mandatory minimums. These were basically algorithmic processes to output a time range for

A tagger who has the nerve to tag a police station is more likely to be involved in violence than a fairly educated 17 year old adolescent who codes. Why is this not reasonably fair to say? I don't understand. We're talking about tagging a

Good points, roel. I want to say something about my "logic." I compared two similar scenarios. You're comparing industrial sabotage to tagging a wall. It's not fair to say that because this comparison fails, my logic is wrong is it? You se

"So long both teenagers are first time offenders, then the justice system should treat them the same." Once again, I can't agree. That is not the only consideration taken into account. Absolutely not. That doesn't even begin to skim the sur

Yeah. That. But let's make sure we understand the point of his example. The whole point of the law is to take trials on a case by case basis. More often than not there is no broadly sweeping rule that will dictate the outcome of the case. T

Think about what you're writing. There's a huge difference. One is writing a few pieces of code. The other exists in the physical world. That means the person spray painting the police station ("house") effects a greater magnitude of real-w

Wow...to think that he would be 27 before he ever got out. I wonder how it's possible for the government to penalize a 17 year old with 10 years of prison. That's the equivalent of a class c felony in the US, which can be applied to sexual

I have to disagree. I don't like to think of this as a necessary evil. Given the OP's philosophy, I definitely don't think it's appropriate to describe what he should do as an "evil." It can be done differently. He's not questioning the fac

I have a feeling that if you have all of these other features (statuses, profiles, messages...), why not just stick in notes, groups and pages? I feel like (what you're saying) the big problem is that FB became a huge clutter of some sort.

As a side note (because your way of thinking is very interesting), here's a small thought exercise. I would love to know what you would do in this situation. (This might further convince you that the way you think fails some tests). I think

Dear jhjhjhjhj, 1. Not acting is hurting someone too. You can look at this from a psychological standpoint. I've read the other comments and I agree with some of them, especially mnicole's in which s/he says "you're opening the door for ano

As I said before, I'd continue to look. Here is another outline provided by East Tennessee State University that I think is fairly worthwhile. ( http://math.etsu.edu/multicalc/prealpha/ ) NB: I'll be using the first link to study Calc3 afte

1. I think the MIT response is a very good place to start, as I also used it (along with Khan) to do well during high school exams. I would also recommend as a further study aid ( http://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Classes/CalcIII/EqnsOfPlanes.
