Cheers HN for downvoting a factually correct statement because the parent post got edited after I pointed out an error...

Erm... Heartbleed has absolutely nothing to do with what version of OpenSSL you use to generate the cert.

Static sites can have their content modified silently in a MITM attack as well.

Excellent move by Google that should push people to use HTTPS more. Hopefully this will take into account the supported TLS versions and ciphersuites as well. It's sad to see sites that only supports TLS 1.0 and prefers a CBC ciphersui

> The whole idea of the project is to bring them together. What does this do that a normal shell and vim doesn't? If I use that together with something like tmux I can jump between the two seamlessly entirely with keyboard commands.

Things like Ansible/Salt and similar tools cut out a lot of the boilerplate. There are also plenty of modules you can reuse without having to roll your own. You can achieve the same results using Bash/Perl/Python but a lot

Thinkpads retain value quite well. It's probably more accurate to say that you pay for what you get. Quality, non-Apple hardware are pricey as well.

Video editing device drivers might be a problem but I'm pretty sure Apple provides the Thunderbolt drivers so a recompile won't be a problem for that if they make the (very unlikely imo) move to ARM. Correct me if I'm wrong o

I actually prefer Ubuntu Mono over Consolas or Inconsolata but fonts are a very subjective thing. :)

`yum install qbittorent` is as easy as it gets. I have no problems installing Oracle Java with the official RPM binaries as well. You like using Ubuntu. That's fine and all. But please stop spreading FUD about Red Hat based distros.

I'm not sure why this got downvoted. They are charging 0.03BTC (which Google tells me is USD 17) for a 8GB SDHC card with software preinstalled. This seems pretty steep for something that anyone can setup in a couple of minutes easily.

Opencart is the last project anyone should contribute to. The developer has an absolutely horrible attitude. As an example, https://github.com/opencart/opencart/pull/1594

I'm assuming this is targeted at organizations wanting to run their own private cloud, not the typical small startup that consumes cloud resources from a player like Amazon, Google or Microsoft.

So in your view people with valid criticisms should just shut up and be thankful? All the points in the blog posts are real problems. Pointing them out just means that fixes can be made and software can be improved.
