Are they impulse buyers, or highly specialized? From time to time I see a cool thing that seems targeted to me, do click it, see the outrageous price, then do research and find the best price/quality ratio on Amazon. I assumed most p

To be completely fair, it's not like they ran a ship from China just to bring your toothbrush. It's of course with thousands of other items, lowering the total cost per item for shipping. And these costs are still cheaper than m

interesting, thanks for the insight. I haven't touched DB setup in many years, and even then was novice. The best person I knew told me to index if a column wasn't unique, but also wasn't something with only two or three ch

So, in fairness I didn't dig through the code to see the column, but assumed some granularity like milliseconds? It was a genuine question on whether it would speed up the query at all if indexed since it is generally grabbing everyth

Thanks, edited. I was wondering when I wrote that 'why would I have got my credit card out'...now it makes sense as I remember having used that service in the past.

Ugh. This reminds me of the USPS address change scam. Just type "change address" into Google and see how many Ad results for this are thrown in top of your search results. They are all semi official looking, and charge you. I&#

People have come to equate Amazon with fast delivery. It's literally the only reason I use them. Often, looking at reviews, delivery time and condition are the biggest factor in bad reviews. To their credit, they usually strike thes

Why not just keep both? Keep the domain name. Call the product LogoJoy. Brand it LogoJoy, a Looka company. Or LogoJoy, by Looka. Just changing names seems monumentally risky, in my opinion.

It sounds harsh, but I'm not sure what the answer is. Think of it, if housing were completely free everywhere in the US, for everyone, most people would flock to the west coast. It has the best weather in the US, and San Diego in par

I'm not sure I follow this line of thinking. The price is what it is, and everyone knows what it is. How can I feel sorry for folks that live there and just shrug and say "can't afford it". It's one of the most e

Thanks for the links. This is significantly larger than a NUC, but still manageable. That said, part of what I appreciate about the NUC is that it's all built together...no weird hardware/compat issues, etc.

Same. In an effort to minimalize, my work PC is a monitor with a NUC sitting under it. No bulky case, wires everywhere, etc. I've been trying for two years to find an AMD equivalent to no avail.

What makes you think new entrants? Just curious. On the fab side definitely not... there's really only 3 fabs competing on the bleeding edge side of things, and it costs way too much to open another. On the 'chip designer'

It really depends on the card. As mentioned, Amex and Discover really seem to be the best. I've only disputed a handful of times, and each time they refund the money immediately while they figure out who was right.

That's essentially what I was thinking even when reading the article. Get a good credit card company that's on your side (Amex has been best for me, Discover too), and let them deal with it. They absolutely will not screw around

I feel like you're picking one thing you feel strongly about and disagree with to discredit the entire show. I don't agree with a lot of what Rogan believes, but I feel this is an unfair characterization of him and his show.

Does Google offer a way to silo storage? I tried to email my wife last week, and she claims to have never gotten it. Investigating, we noticed she hadn't received an email in days. The culprit? Too many original size photos in Goog

When ready to order, I agree. However, when browsing for what's available, it's a frustrating experience. The last time I wanted to see prices from Papa Johns, I couldn't. They want you to sign in with your pizza profile,

SCO is synonymous with evil old school unix. A lot of mainframes ran it, and my first job was dealing with some old SCO/ATT bastardized system. Interestingly enough, I never bothered to know what SCO stood for until now.

In a way, I miss the naive old web. Now you get popups, requests to have your location, prompts to sign in before you can get deals, etc. In many ways a simple web form asking for pizza is a better user experience.

I don't particularly care for Systemd, just out of principle, but I don't mind using it. Personally, I feel Arch Linux went downhill after Judd left. Maybe I'm naive, but I absolutely loved Arch's 'rc.conf',
