The framing is inflammatory. What most people can agree upon is that the surveillance state is out of control. I'm sure I'll be flamed into oblivion here, but it is worth considering the headline from the perspective of the anti-a

What does "Truth in journalism" even mean? I understand the agendas at play here, but the literal version is nonsensical. The bigger irony is that words themselves are losing meaning, all in the pursuit of "truthiness".

As a disclaimer, this is all wild speculation. India would be pushed to choose sides if a larger conflict emerged. I don't see the larger conflict starting over the Himalayan border. Rather the larger conflict could cause this long run

I just like to have the discussion, but the disclaimer helps to keep it civil. >Politically I'd probably identify myself as an anarchist, so if I could change the world to look exactly like I thought best, I'd probably get rid

This thread is beginning to read like a transatlantic culture war. There's also a dichotomy between employees and entrepreneurs. This one is a bit simpler in that it can be evaluated from first principles. There are no private employee

I've worked as a bicycle courier in Denver and DC. Bike lanes have always felt kind of silly in my view. You're always being set up to collide with an opening car door or get T-boned by someone making a right on red. Worse yet, dr

Isn't part of the problem here that bureaucrats measure and define their own metrics. They have every incentive to report that their policies are effective. There are also malign incentives around Cantillon effects and central planning

None of the "marketing experts" in the crypto space I've talked to have any idea about affiliate programs. Right now the space is dominated by influencers drinking from the VC trough. Pay for performance scares these people.
