I really love seeing what DO is doing. We use a lot of providers, and seeing DO making this available while immediately making the API available is really impressive. A company that thinks about API first when enabling a new service (like A

You are being downvoted but I think it's a pretty legitimate question and the answer to it is: Yes. If you want to have a united interface to multiple services behind the scenes and incorporate ACL or any kind of top-level resource man

Multiple independent teams might work on each of the graphs. We don't use a mono-repo, we use a repo per service. We have shared libraries like https://github.com/globality-corp/nodule-graphql that make generating

I disagree with the notion of `One Graph`. We have multiple "gateways" for multiple backend services. We have our main application that has one graph and we have multiple internal applications each owns its own graph. I don't

Your last sentence is something I have been thinking about for a very long time. I have been in Devops since it before it had a name and I see many companies solving the same problems. Like ths auto-scaling post. That's not the first c

From a bird's eye view, you also need to figure out what costs you more. For example (and I know nothing about the use-case of OP, can only estimate), you might be able to buffer requests into a queue and have it scale up slower. You m

There are many limitations that you need to "read between the lines" with AWS auto scaling. For example, we have daemons reading messages from SQS, if you try to use auto scaling based on SQS metrics, you come to realize pretty qu

Another thing, don't expect to create a website (for yourself) and have customers come to you. Not even with Google of FB ads. Go you them! This is a cold-calling, customer facing, convincing business. It's ads in local papers, fl

You don't give a CMS, you talk to them where they are, on the phone, WhatsApp, anything. You give them customer service where customer service is completely dead.

Here are my thoughts: I am far from my days of "building websites", but I built one as a favor for a friend just this week (simple contact form, single page). I was talking to him over the phone about his previous website, how it
