The problem is when stuff like this happens, it is hard to say how many individuals died or have been negatively affected due to resources having issues getting to the right individuals. If dancing can make an iphone call 911, then Apple ha

From what I read and watched the company didn't take safety very seriously at all. A former employee claims they were fired after brining up concerns about safety. The glass apparently was not rated for the depth required to see the ti

I'm in US. Remote is considered a part of the package for me. Why should I care a factory worker or manager needs to be there? I did variety of jobs that required me to be onsite all the time, hence why I switched to computers/pro

I work for unsexy manufacturing company. I haven't been to the office and we agreed I'm remote first. If recruiter messages me about "Hot company but onsite", I just ignore it. I honestly don't care about the compan

This is silly. I love Ikea stuff. I bought an Ikea kitchen, nobody else will give you a 15 year warranty. I have read stories of kitchens being completely replaced because Ikea no longer made a certain design. If the cheaper furniture lasts

It sucks for blind community for example. It doesn't affect me personally but the way reddit has handled this whole saga is "short term corporate profits". Reddit is dead. Highest contributors will move on.

This is also my hope. I think 'slim' sites like HN really show that you do not need a lot of hardware to run a forum. When you own a forum you can preserve the knowledge indefinitely, even if the forum is taken offline. Reddit can

I'm done with reddit. My account is 12 years old with nearly 70k karma. I moderate a niche subreddit and have helped build a wealth of knowledge. I will most likely deploy and pay for hosting a forum for the users and then nuke the sub

HN will always retain some of the new comers. I was first reddit user then HN. HN instantly brought me "old" internet nostalgia. Geeks just talking about things in a mostly open minded way. Lack of memes, politics and "boring

I paid $89 for 15 months of Microsoft Office 365. It gives you 1TB per user for up to 5 users. I use onedrive app on Iphone to backup images. Next step is to sync my NAS but I have not gotten around to that yet.
