Two years ago was far too late. As I said, perhaps if they had started this initiative earlier then who knows? We've had nearly 4 years of the iPhone now, and nearly 3 years of Android, so this was a slow move and a late one. I applaud the

It's a damning indictment of Symbian's failure that the HN crowd can't summon the energy to debate it. RIP Symbian. You served a purpose, but now it's time to die.

Symbian is dead [0]. It has been for a while. And Nokia will be too unless it adopts a new strategy very quickly. The figures from the article make this crystal clear: "Symbian's global market share has gone from 51 percent in the second qu

The difference with test-driven development and continuous integration is that everyone relies very heavily on the tests. So, there is no necessity to check the tests, you start from a position of knowing that the tests are complete. The NA

Unit tests are "correct" by definition, because they represent the specification for the code that they test. You aim to encapsulate all the intended behaviour in your tests. Thus, when you encounter a bug, you start by creating a test that

I think everyone is shocked when they first encounter the consumer market face to face. I know I was, and I know colleagues were too. You come to accept it, though, and not take it personally. Nor try to rationalise most of it. It's really

You don't need a compelling web-site, you need a compelling reason for your customers to visit your web-site. I guess giving away something is a common choice. Once they are there, give them an opportunity to scratch their itches.
